A group of individuals from multiple Danville-area churches are partnering together for the second year in a row in an effort to help out organizations throughout the community.
The first “Serve Together Vermilion County” event occurred in June 2019. It was originally scheduled for the same time this year, but was pushed back to the fall due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Several groups will be volunteering in a number of ways at different sites.
Brian Carpenter of CrossRoads Christian Church is one of the organizers of the event.
Anything from landscaping, painting, making things…and then doing things outside to clean up, make the curbs appeal and look better and beautify it, to just make our town look the way we know it can,” he says.
“Serve Together Vermilion County” begins at 8:00 Saturday morning and groups will work until around 1:30. At 3:00 Saturday afternoon, everyone who is participating will gather in Lincoln Park for a community celebration.
Only a handful of volunteer positions are still available. You can sign up here or by emailing Molly Goodwin at mgoodwin@fca.org.
