Vermilion County’s COVID-19 positivity rate continues to climb.
County Health Department Administrator Doug Toole says 26 new cases have been reported, with the daily positivity rate hovering above 12 percent, and the seven-day average around 10 percent.
The new cases are:
- Five people in their 70’s
- Five people in their 60’s
- Three people in their 50’s
- Two people in their 40’s
- Three people in their 30’s
- Three people in their 20’s
- Two teenagers
- One grade-school-aged child
- Two toddlers.
Nine of the new cases are family-related or a result of contact with a person who previously tested positive.
Vermilion County currently has 170 active cases and 835 total cases. Seven local residents are in the hospital with COVID-19 complications.
The Illinois Department of Public Health announced the state added 1,853 cases and 14 deaths, meaning the state’s totals are now 303,394 cases and 8,805 deaths.
Toole says 145 people were tested during the final day of drive-through COVID testing at the Vermilion County Health Department on Sunday.
