Chuck Jones (shown in photo below), Coordinator of Special Grants for Vermilion County Works, says the local economy is bouncing back…
{‘’As the economy starts to come back we’re seeing more-and-more employers looking – not only for workers in general, but for the specialized skills. People who have the specialized training that a lot of the jobs today need,’’ said Jones. ‘’So there’s definitely a demand out there.’’}

Vermilion County Works often teams with Danville Area Community College to provide training in such areas as CNAs (Certified Nursing Assistants), CDL (truck driver training) and Advanced Manufacturing.
Nick Catlett, Coordinator of Career and Veteran Services at Danville Area Community College, notes full time students will be able to continue to save money in the Spring term…
{‘’Right now we’re offering half-price tuition and fees for online classes this fall, and we’re going to carry that over to the spring. So our normal tuition rates are $140 a credit hour. Now its 70 bucks a credit hour if you’re taking the class online. So it’s an enormous savings,’’ said Catlett during an interview with VermilionCountyFirst.com News.}
