Vermilion County’s seven-day positivity rate rose slightly on Wednesday.
The county’s health department reported 34 new COVID-19 cases yesterday afternoon, along with a slight rise in the positivity rate from 10.5 percent to 10.6 percent.
In addition, the number of active cases continues to rise, now at 242.
The new cases consist of:
- Two people in their 80’s
- Eight people in their 70’s
- Four people in their 60’s
- Five people in their 50’s
- Two people in their 40’s
- Three people in their 30’s
- Three people in their 20’s
- One teenager
- Two grade-school-aged children
- Two preschoolers
- Two toddlers.
Fifteen of Wednesday’s new cases are related to previously reported positive cases. Vermilion County has now seen a total of 948 cases, and nine people are hospitalized right now with virus complications.
The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 2,630 new cases statewide Wednesday and 42 deaths, including a woman in her 80’s from Champaign County.
