The Hoopeston Area school district is joining Bismarck-Henning and Westville as the third Vermilion County school district to go all-remote for the next two weeks.
Superintendent Robert Richardson says the district has several students out of school with positive COVID-19 cases and others in quarantine due to contact with people who have tested positive for the virus.
Hoopeston’s remote learning period will start on Tuesday, October 13th and last through Friday, October 23rd. In-person learning will resume on Monday, October 26th.
Richardson says the district is distributing meals for students in need for the next two Wednesdays from 5-6 p.m. at Hoopeston Area High School, East Lynn Fire Department, Rankin Lions Club and the Wellington Post Office. Parents will need to send their information by email to the district by Noon on Tuesday in order to receive meals Wednesday night.
