Thirty-five new coronavirus cases were reported in Vermilion County Monday afternoon.
County Health Department Administrator Doug Toole says nine county residents remain hospitalized with the virus. Eight of the new cases are related to prior positive cases.
The new cases consist of:
- One person in their 80’s
- Five people in their 70’s
- Five people in their 60’s
- Seven people in their 50’s
- Three people in their 40’s
- Three people in their 30’s
- Six people in their 20’s
- Four teenagers
- One grade-school-aged child
Vermilion County now has 1,095 positive cases.
The Illinois Department of Public Health announced 2,742 new cases statewide yesterday, increasing the state’s totals to 321,892 cases and 8,997 deaths. Region 6’s seven-day positivity rate has increased back to 7.2 percent.
