State police are looking for a white Ford Mustang they believe was involved in a fatal bicycle accident near Mahomet earlier this month.
The accident occurred around 4 p.m. on Sunday, October 11th. Police believe the driver of the Mustang was traveling westbound along Route 150 about a mile west of Mahomet and struck two cyclists on the side of the roadway. One of the cyclists was killed—Dr. William Schuh, a longtime employee of Carle Foundation Hospital who was serving as the chief medical information officer. Another cyclist was injured but survived.
The driver of the vehicle did not stop and left the scene.
Troopers are searching for a white Ford Mustang with black side view mirrors. They say the vehicle would have sustained damage to the front right bumper, front right quarter panel and the passenger side mirror was broken off.
