Danville’s unemployment rate continues to improve since the initial spike when the COVID-19 pandemic began.
The Illinois Department of Employment Security says Danville’s unemployment rate is 10.8 percent for September, which is down 1.4 percent from August. The Danville area saw a 1.1 percent drop in unemployment from August, with 8.4 percent unemployment reported in September.
Illinois’ statewide unemployment rate fell 1.3 percent in September, to 9.8 percent. Champaign-Urbana saw its rate fall 1.5 percent, now at six percent even.
