Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee took to social media to slam celebrities for being too far removed from politics that they don't comment on the state of the union. Blabbermouth reported Lee posted a meme which read, “Tommy Lee Really F***ing Hates Donald Trump” — and then wrote a message saying, “Hey all you a**holes that tell me 'to stick to playing drums' I say stick to playing dumb!!! Unfollow me then If you don't like me voicing my opinion. . . too bad. . . everyones (sic) opinion matters. . . I always have and always will speak my truth and again if ya don't like it keep it movin or unfollow stop hanging around leaving lame ass comments on my page! F*** off!”
Not too long ago, Tommy Lee told The Big Issue, he would move to his birthplace of Greece should Trump see re-election: “Dude, I swear to God if that happens . . . I'll go back to my motherland, go back to Greece and get a house on one of the islands. . . The thing that stings the most is that I feel like we're embarrassing. I feel like people in Europe and the rest of the world look at America and think: 'What the f*** are you guys doing over there? Stop voting for celebrities and get someone real to run the country.'”
A while back we caught up with Tommy Lee upon his return from a string of overseas appearances. He was amazed at how much more lenient and freewheeling the media seems to be abroad than back at home: “We were, like, just in Europe for about a month doing a promo tour. I mean, it’s truly free over there. You can say what you want on the radio. They play all kinds of what would be considered unacceptable material, video-wise — no problem over there. I just, I love that. Y'know, sometimes I have to question our freedom over here.”
