The Offspring has released their first ever holiday track, “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)”, which was produced by Bob Rock. The song was originally released by Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Darlene Love in 1963. The song will be pressed on a limited edition, holiday red 7″ vinyl with a custom etching on the B-side of the band's logo.
The Offspring lead singer Dexter Holland said, “It just seemed like the world could use a nice holiday song right now. We’ve always been huge fans of Darlene Love, so when the idea came up to do a Christmas song, we jumped at the chance to record that one . . . and tried not to wreck it!”
The Offspring recently completed work on its long-awaited 10th studio album. The follow-up to 2012's Days Go By does not yet have a title or release date.
