Another person from Vermilion County has died from COVID-19.
Vermilion County Health Department Administrator Doug Toole says a man in his 70’s who had been hospitalized passed away this week. Currently, 14 local residents have died of the virus.
The health department also reported 27 new cases Wednesday afternoon. Those consist of:
- One person in their 80’s
- Two people in their 70’s
- Three people in their 60’s
- Six people in their 50’s
- Six people in their 40’s
- One person in their 30’s
- Two people in their 20’s
- Three teenagers
- Three grade-school-aged children.
Since March, Vermilion County has had a total of 1,778 coronavirus cases, and currently has 196 active cases.
There are currently 22 local residents who are hospitalized with the virus.
