A Bolingbrook man died Saturday afternoon and four other people were injured in a collision near Covington.
Indiana State Police say 28-year-old James McVey was driving a motorcycle westbound on Route 136 just west of the Wabash River bridge around 2 p.m. when he crossed the center line for unknown reasons. McVey then collided with a pickup truck driven by a 28-year-old man from Johnson County, Indiana.
The truck drove off the south side of the highway and struck a guardrail.
McVey was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck was airlifted to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis with serious injuries. Two passengers in his vehicle were taken to OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, while a third passenger was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
Route 136 was closed for about three hours following the accident.
