Vermilion County’s death toll from COVID-19 is now at 15 people.
Vermilion County Health Department Administrator Doug Toole says a woman above the age of 100 passed away from the virus.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to her friends and family,” Toole says.
In addition to the one death, the health department also reported 12 new cases Monday afternoon, but Toole says that number was low due to staff members still processing new cases. The confirmed new cases consist of:
- One resident in their 90s
- Two in their 70s
- Two in their 50s
- Two in their 40s
- Two in their 30s
- One in their 20s
- Two teens
21 local residents are hospitalized with the virus, and 241 cases are still active.
