More than 300 residents of Vermilion County are currently fighting COVID-19, and the county’s rolling positivity rate continues to hit all-time highs.
Vermilion County Health Department Administrator Doug Toole says 47 new cases were confirmed on Monday afternoon. There are currently 324 active cases in Vermilion County, and 29 people are still hospitalized, unchanged from Sunday.
The new cases consist of:
- Two people in their 80’s
- Two people in their 70’s
- 12 people in their 60’s
- Five people in their 50’s
- Six people in their 40’s
- Four people in their 30’s
- Eight people in their 20’s
- Five teenagers
- Three grade-school-aged children.
Vermilion County’s seven-day rolling positivity rate is now at 14.5 percent, continuing a steady increase over the last few days. There have been 2,267 overall cases since the pandemic began.
