Students who attend Oakwood Junior High School and Oakwood Grade School will be learning remotely through Thanksgiving week.
In a letter addressed to parents on Tuesday, Superintendent Larry Maynard says 14 staff members at Oakwood Grade School, including both administrators and the school nurse, are in quarantined. At the junior high school, three staff members, including the principal, are in quarantine.
Oakwood High School students will continue to learn in-person for now.
Faculty members will not be required to work in the building and can do so remotely. Food service will still be monitored during the remote learning period.
In-person classes will resume on Monday, November 30th. Other area schools following the same remote schedule include Liberty Elementary School in Danville, along with the Rossville-Alvin and Salt Fork school districts.
