The Vermilion County Conservation District says its county parks will remain open to the public even with new COVID-19 restrictions announced yesterday, but indoor facilities will remain closed.
All conservation district properties, including Kennekuk and Forest Glen parks, will still be open for hiking, walking, hunting, fishing, and other recreational activities. Visitors will be required to follow the state’s Tier 3 restrictions, with no groups larger than 10 people and everyone maintaining social distancing.
The visitors’ center at Kennekuk will still be closed to the public but will have a walk-up window for visitors. All other buildings, including educational facilities, historic buildings, and the ranger station will remain closed.
New shelter reservations for this year are being suspended until further notice.
Beginning Monday, December 7th, Forest Glen will close at 4:30 p.m. and Kennekuk at 6 p.m.
