A man in his 80’s from Vermilion County has died from COVID-19, making him the 30th local resident to die from the virus since March.
Vermilion County Health Department Administrator Doug Toole also says 86 more cases have been reported, which include cases over the last two days. The county currently has 245 active cases.
The new cases consist of:
- Two people in their 90’s
- Two people in their 80’s
- Eight people in their 70’s
- Nine people in their 60’s
- 13 people in their 50’s
- 10 people in their 40’s
- 14 people in their 30’s
- 13 people in their 20’s
- Six teenagers
- Five grade-school-aged children
- One toddler
- Three infants
Vermilion County’s rolling COVID-19 positivity rate is 14.3 percent, up one-tenth of a percent from Wednesday (the health department did not update any new cases on Thursday). Overall, there have been 2,475 positive cases.
