With Danville’s historic Fischer Theatre being closed due to new COVID-19 restrictions in Illinois, the theatre’s management is offering a unique opportunity for the public to have messages displayed on its marquee.
Community members can rent one side of the Fischer’s marquee for $100 per day or both sides of the marquee for $150 per day. Weekly fees are $300 for one side and $500 for both sides of the marquee.
Some of the messages being displayed celebrate birthdays or anniversaries, or they can be used to share an inspirational quote or for a photo shoot.
In addition to the marquee special, the Fischer is also now offering an online Christmas chair auction. Ashton Greer, the operations manager at the Fischer, told our Linda Bolton that bidding is open now through December 15th. She says the 18 chairs are originally from St. Paul’s Grade School and have been painted by artists from across the country.
All of the chairs are child-sized, and there is a “buy now” option available.
