Vermilion County Health Department Administrator Doug Toole says that three more county residents have died from COVID-19, increasing the total death count to 43 people.
The three new deaths are women in their 90’s, 80’s and 70’s.
The health department is also reporting 167 new cases. Toole said during Wednesday’s COVID-19 update that all of the county’s contact tracers are back, and said he expected a significant jump in reported cases on Thursday.
The new cases consist of:
- Four people in their 80’s
- Four people in their 70’s
- 12 people in their 60’s
- 26 people in their 50’s
- 32 people in their 40’s
- 34 people in their 30’s
- 33 people in their 20’s
- 12 teenagers
- Seven grade-school-aged children
Currently, Vermilion County has 277 active coronavirus cases and a total of 3,478 cases since March.
34 people from Vermilion County are hospitalized with COVID-19.
