Dr. Dre's estranged 37-year-old daughter LaTanya Young has claimed that she has not seen him in 17 years. According to The Daily Mail via The Blast, Young's mom's name is Lisa Johnson and Johnson and Dre broke up when Young was only 5.
Although she's had to resort to working at FedEx to pay her bills, Young says she doesn't want money from her famous dad. She explained, “money is not what I want, I feel better doing it on my own.”
She went on, “I really just want to have closure. I just want to be able to spend time with my father.” She added that her dad has never met her kids.
Young said that she thought her father would come around after her dad's divorce, saying, “I thought that after Nicole was out of the family, things would be better. I thought my dad would come around. I would like him to make me feel like a daughter.”
DR. DRE IS READY TO SETTLE HIS DIVORCE
In other news, Dr. Dre is ready to settle his divorce with estranged wife Nicole Young because the divorce is costing him a lot of money. According to The Blast, Dre's attorney Laura Wasser was in court last week for a trial setting conference to determine how far along the parties were in the case and whether a trial date could be set on the issue of the prenuptial agreement. Nicole’s attorneys, Samantha Spector and Lisa Meyer, told the judge they had “much more work to do” to get ready for trial.
Nichole has had access to over $750,000 in attorney’s fees paid by Dre, and she owes her attorney’s over $1,000,000 more.
Dre's own attorney's fees are $300,000. It has been reported that Dre has made it clear that on several occasions, he has proposed a settlement conference and would advance all costs to make this happen. He also proposed to resolve the matter on terms far more generous than what the prenuptial agreement provides. He'd like for Young to live comfortably and the more they go back and forth, the more it costs.
