The Vermilion County Health Department has reported 245 new COVID-19 cases, which make up data reported over the past three days (Friday through Sunday).
In addition, three more local residents have died from the virus: women in their 90’s and 80’s and a man in his 80’s. The total death count in Vermilion County is now at 46 people.
The new cases, broken down by age, consist of:
- Four people in their 80’s
- 12 people in their 70’s
- 21 people in their 60’s
- 53 people in their 50’s
- 30 people in their 40’s
- 30 people in their 30’s
- 53 people in their 20’s
- 23 teenagers
- 14 grade-school-aged children
- Two preschoolers
- Two toddlers
- One infant
Currently, Vermilion County has 332 active coronavirus cases and 34 people hospitalized with the virus. Overall, there have been 3,723 positive cases locally.
The Illinois Department of Public Health announced 7,600 new cases on Sunday afternoon, meaning the state has seen 787,500 cases and more than 13,000 deaths. 5,100 people statewide were hospitalized with COVID-19, and the rolling statewide positivity rate is 10.1 percent.
