One hundred new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed here in Vermilion County.
Vermilion County Health Department Administrator Doug Toole said Wednesday night that the county currently has 332 active cases, up 16 from Tuesday. The local rolling positivity rate is up slightly to 13.7 percent, and 42 local residents are hospitalized with the virus, up two people from Tuesday.
The new cases, broken down by age, consist of:
- One person in their 90’s
- Three people in their 80’s
- Seven people in their 70’s
- 16 people in their 60’s
- 19 people in their 50’s
- 15 people in their 40’s
- 14 people in their 30’s
- 15 people in their 20’s
- Three teenagers
- Three grade-school-aged children
- One preschooler
- One toddler
- Two infants
Vermilion County has seen a total of 3,933 positive cases since March.
State health officials announced 8,256 new coronavirus cases and 179 more deaths on Wednesday, meaning Illinois has now seen 812.430 cases and 13,666 deaths total. The statewide positivity rate is 9.6 percent.
