The death toll from COVID-19 in Vermilion County has grown to 53 people, after five more deaths were confirmed in the past three days.
County Health Department Administrator Doug Toole says the new deaths are two women and one man in their 90’s, one woman in her 80’s and one man in his 60’s.
The Vermilion County Health Department also reported 203 new cases between Friday and Sunday. The new cases, broken down by age, consist of:
- Six people in their 90’s
- 11 people in their 80’s
- 15 people in their 70’s
- Five people in their 60’s
- 29 people in their 50’s
- 38 people in their 40’s
- 37 people in their 30’s
- 29 people in their 20’s
- 22 teenagers
- Seven grade-school-aged children
- Four preschoolers
- Three toddlers
- One infant
Currently, Vermilion County has 339 active cases and 42 people hospitalized. There have been 4,229 positive cases total since March. The state is now up to 848,904 cases and 14,291 deaths.
