One member of the Danville District 118 school board filed for re-election during the first day of the candidate filing period, according to Deputy Vermilion County Clerk Lindsey Light.
Retired Danville High School guidance counselor Darlene Halloran submitted her paperwork to run again on Monday morning. Halloran, who has served since 2013, is one of four Danville school board members whose seats are up for election on the April 6th ballot. The others are Dr. Randal Ashton, Lon Henderson and Shannon Schroeder.
School board candidates have until 5 p.m. on Monday, December 21st to submit their signatures and paperwork to be listed as a candidate in the spring election. All board candidates in Vermilion County should file at the Vermilion County Clerkâs office, which is located at the north end of the main floor of the Vermilion County Administration Building in downtown Danville.
Candidates for other races on the ballot in April should file their petitions with their local secretary or clerk.
