Forty new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Vermilion County.
Vermilion County Health Department Administrator Doug Toole says there are 330 active cases locally, as well as 38 local residents who are currently hospitalized with COVID-19.
A total of 4,421 new cases have been reported since the pandemic began.
The new cases, broken down by age, consist of:
- One person in their 80’s
- Four people in their 70’s
- Three people in their 60’s
- Five people in their 50’s
- Five people in their 40’s
- Four people in their 30’s
- 10 people in their 20’s
- One teenager
- Six grade-school-aged children
- One infant
Statewide, 8,828 new cases of the virus were reported along with 181 more deaths. The local positivity rate is down to 9.4 percent, while statewide it is 8.4 percent.
