A former Danville man has been given a five-year prison sentence for his involvement in a burglary of a Danville furniture store last month.
Vermilion County State’s Attorney Jacqueline Lacy says 40-year-old Jumar Mockabee pleaded no contest yesterday, exactly a month after Danville police say he robbed Buddy’s Home Furnishings on North Gilbert Street.
Lacy says video surveillance showed Mockabee entering the store through a shattered door, and then removing and exiting the building with televisions, an air conditioning unit, two PlayStation 4 gaming systems and two Nintendo Switch gaming systems.
Through an investigation, Danville police recovered all of the items that were stolen.
Mockabee will be on parole for two years once he completes his prison sentence.
