The Illinois Department of Public Health says it plans to send its mobile coronavirus testing unit to Danville for two days this week so that residents can get tested for the virus.
IDPH’s mobile testing unit will be set up outside of the Vermilion County Health Department, 200 S. College St., Danville, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday of this week.
Anyone can be tested, regardless of symptoms or immigration status. There is no cost to the individual for testing, but they should bring their insurance card if they have one. However, insurance is not required. Specimens will be collected using a simple nasal swab. Drive-through and walk-up testing are both available at the testing site.
COVID-19 testing is also available in Danville at Aunt Martha’s Health and Wellness Center, OSF PromptCare and the Carle Clinic location on Fairchild Street.
