OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville has a new Chief Medical Officer.
Dr. Gary Hagens, who has been a chief medical officer at both rural and urban hospitals for 16 years, succeeds Dr. Vincent Kucich in the role. Kucich had served previously for two years.
OSF Community Relations Coordinator Curtis Squires says that Hagens will be responsible for leading the practice of medicine as a member of the hospital’s executive team, ensuring consistency in standards and developing and sharing the strategic direction for the medical practice.
Hagens has most recently been serving as chief operating officer at Hurley Sinclair Management. He also spent six years in central Illinois as the Chief Operating Officer at BroMenn Medical Center in Normal.
Squires says that with more than 36 years of consulting and clinical and academic leadership, Dr. Hagens brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to OSF.
Dr. Hagens earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree (DMD) from University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine.
