A Champaign man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for having fentanyl and heroin inside a house in Danville and intending to sell it.
32-year-old Delvin Willis pleaded guilty in November to possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, which is a Class X Felony.
On July 23, 2019, agents with the Vermilion County Metropolitan Enforcement Group executed a search warrant on a residence owned by Willis. Officers found more than 80 grams of a substance containing fentanyl and heroin.
Starting at the beginning of 2019, VMEG officers used informants to purchase drugs from Willis on numerous occasions. They also used eavesdropping equipment to record the drug transactions.
Willis’s sentencing will include day-to-day sentencing credit, and he will be placed on parole for three years once he is released.
