Five more Vermilion County residents have died from COVID-19.
Vermilion County Health Department Administrator Doug Toole said on Wednesday night that three men in their 80’s, one woman in her 70’s and one woman in her 50’s have all died in the past week.
Toole also announced 69 new cases yesterday. There are currently 573 active cases locally, with 18 county residents hospitalized with the virus.
The new cases, broken down by age, consist of:
- One person in their 80’s
- 11 people in their 70’s
- Nine people in their 60’s
- Five people in their 50’s
- Seven people in their 40’s
- 13 people in their 30’s
- Five people in their 20’s
- Eight teenagers
- Six grade-school-aged children
- One preschooler
- One toddler
- Two infants
Toole also says the state’s mobile testing team will return to the health department on Saturday and also January 19th and 21st.
