Areas of east central Illinois could see some ice today, and an advisory has been issued for the local area.
The National Weather Service on Sunday afternoon issued a winter storm advisory in effect until Noon on Tuesday.
The Vermilion County Emergency Management Agency says the worst of the storm is expected to pass through Danville between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Monday, and there is freezing rain and possibly some sleet expected. The EMA says Vermilion County missed out on the first winter storm that hit areas of northern Illinois on Saturday night, but ice could be the biggest problem throughout Monday and Tuesday.
Monday’s forecast calls for ice accumulation on Monday of up to one-tenth of an inch, High temps this week will stay in the 30’s, while the lows will be in the 20’s.
