Vermilion County residents who have not yet signed up to receive COVID-19 vaccines will have to wait until at least March before they can receive them.
Doug Toole, the administrator of the Vermilion County Health Department, said on Tuesday morning that the department has enough people on its waiting list to fill the three vaccination clinics that are scheduled at the Fischer Theatre in February.
Toole says the health department will not be accepting any more vaccination appointment requests until February 16th, for clinics that are scheduled to be held in March. He says he hopes the online scheduling software is up and running by that time.
Vaccine clinics for educators and other individuals in Phase 1B of the Illinois Department of Public Health’s priority list are set for February 11th, 18th and 25th at the Fischer. They are only being held weekly because OSF’s emergency responders are only available once a week to monitor people once they receive the shot.
