A Danville man has been charged after federal prosecutors say he failed to update his address with officials as part of the Sex Offender Registry.
66-year-old David Morlan is accused of not updating his address with authorities between June and December of 2020. Prosecutors say he was living in Danville but had registered an Indiana address. He was arrested January 8th by Danville police.
Morlan was convicted in 2006 of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a five-year-old child in Vermilion County court.
The penalty if convicted for failing to register as a sex offender is a maximum of 10 years in prison.
