A Chicago man is in custody after leading police officers on a high-speed pursuit on Friday afternoon in Fountain and Warren counties.
Indiana State Police say a trooper was patrolling U.S. 41 south of Attica around 2:50 p.m. Friday when he attempted to stop a vehicle that was traveling at 111 miles per hour in a 60 miles per hour zone. The driver failed to stop and the trooper ended the pursuit after several miles.
Police say that the driver, 22-year-old Anthony Hayes of Chicago, later crashed his car at the intersection of Route 136 and County Road 800 West near Covington. He was quickly arrested by a Covington police officer.

Hayes is facing a Level 6 Felony charge of resisting law enforcement with a vehicle and two misdemeanor charges of reckless driving and driving without a license.
Indiana State Police were assisted by members of the Fountain, Vermillion and Warren County sheriff’s departments and the Covington Police Department.
