A single-vehicle crash in Benton County, Indiana Sunday morning has claimed the life of the Boswell Town Marshal. Indiana State Police say 34-year-old Kevin McCombs was off-duty when the truck he was driving left State Road 352 for some unknown reason, struck a utility pole, and then came to a stop in a field.
First responders extracted McCombs from the vehicle and rendered medical assistance, but McCombs was pronounced dead on the scene.
McCombs not only served as the Boswell Town Marshal, but was also a Reserve Deputy for the Benton County Sheriff’s Department, and served with the Benton County EMS (Emergency Medical Services).
Benton County Sheriff’s Police responded to the scene just before 3:30 Sunday morning (February 28, 2021). An Indiana State Police Crash Reconstruction Team was among units that responded to the scene. They say the crash remains under investigation.
