Eastern Illinois Foodbank has a new president and CEO.
Kelly Daly, who has most recently been the Senior Vice President at the Foodbank, was named to the top position Tuesday morning. She is replacing Jim Hires, who is retiring after 15 years with the organization.
Daly, a 22-year veteran of the organization, currently oversees all operational, financial and compliance-related activities at the food bank. As President and CEO, Daly will work closely with staff and community partners to ensure EIF continues to adapt and grow to achieve its mission of alleviating hunger in eastern Illinois.
The Eastern Illinois Foodbank works to deliver food to residents in need in east central Illinois through a network of food pantries, agencies and programs. It provides food to more than 100,000 people each year. Several food distribution events are also held each year, and many were conducted in the Danville area during the first few months of the pandemic.
