- March 9: The Library on Your Phone (or Tablet or Computer!) You don’t have to leave your home to get great content from the library! Join DPL for a Zoom demonstration on own to use Hoopla to access eBooks, eAudiobooks, Movies, and Music for free with your library card. 7:00 p.m. on Zoom.
- March 12: “Mr. Cannon Goes to Washington” lecture by Tim Smith. An overview of Cannon’s campaigns for Congress and his accomplishments there. Friday at 1:00 p.m. via Zoom.
- March 12: Pop Hits Music Trivia Night. Feeling Lonely? Missing the vibe of a karaoke night? Join us via Zoom for a musical trivia challenge that is guaranteed to have you singing and dancing. This program is open to all ages. Friday night at 7:00 p.m.
- March 13: The DPL Writers’ Group brings together aspiring and accomplished writers of all levels to learn about writing and publishing and to share their work for helpful feedback. From 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Zoom. For adults, ages 18 and over.

- Children’s Art Challenge: Each month we will have a new art challenge. Send us a photo of your (child’s) art and we will post it on both Facebook and our Website. Winners will be chosen at the end of the month in three categories ( Pre-K to 2nd grade, 3rd to 5th grade, and 6th to 8th grade). Submissions must be family-friendly. March’s challenge: In Like a Lion, Out Like a Lamb.
- Children’s Curbside Craft Kits: Available on a first come first served basis, Danville Public Library has craft kits for children at Curbside Pick Up. This week’s craft is a Spring Pinwheel. You can also contact the Children’s Dept. at 217-477-5225 to reserve a kit
- Interactive Movie Experience: Play games while you watch your favorite movies! We have new game packets available for BeetleJuice, Coco, Freaky Friday, Frozen, and Toy Story. Available on a first come first served basis. Call 217-477-5225 to reserve your movie packet
- Personal Shopping: Let our staff be your personal shopper. Give us a ring and we’ll choose something especially for you! Call 217-477-5228 for adult books, 217-477-5225 for children’s books, 217-477-5226 for teen books, and 217-477-5227 for large print and audiobooks
- Project Next Generation: Thanks to the Project Next Generation grant, we are now offering work-skill programs for teens in Veterinary Science, Vinyls Sign Making, and Hospitality Services. Drop-ins welcome, but registration is preferred.
- StoryWalk: Enjoy a quiet walk and read a book! We have Sheep Take a Hike by Nancy Shaw on our back (South) windows. (The wall that faces Madison St.) The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Vermont Bicycle & Pedestrian Coalition and the Kellogg Hubbard Library
- Teen Online Art Show: Each month we will have a new theme. Send us your art and we will post on both Facebook and our Website. Winners will be chosen at the end of the month. Submissions must be family-friendly. March’s theme: March Madness.

- Wonder Garden Club: Our popular gardening club for children continues as a grab and go kit program this year, in partnership with the University of Illinois Extension Office. In March, we have Fairy Garden kits. Reserve your kit online.
