The Vermilion County Highway Department says that Batestown Road will be closed at the intersection with Route 150 near the former Diamond School beginning next Monday, March 15th. Eastbound traffic on Route 150 will also be reduced to one lane during construction.
The project includes the removal and replacement of concrete pavement, curbs and gutters, a storm sewer and the sidewalk. Contractors will maintain access to private residences within the project limits at all times. Access to South Forest Avenue will also remain open during construction. Batestown can also be accessed via Henning Road.
Drivers are urged to use caution in work zones, obey posted speed limits and signs, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
The work is scheduled to be completed by August 1st.
