A popular pizza restaurant in Sidell is opening up a second location in Georgetown.
Sonny’s Pizzeria will open its second location in the former Pizza Hut store, located at 203 N. Main St. in Georgetown, on April 6th. Owner Chuck Sergent says that the restaurant will open with carry-out orders for the first month, and will then expand to deliveries in the surrounding communities after that.
Sergent says that he and his wife opened the original location in Sidell in 2014 as a full-service restaurant, eventually focusing only on pizza. He says that he wanted to expand to his hometown of Westville, but settled on Georgetown instead. He says about 70 deliveries a month are made to Georgetown through the Sidell store.
Starting in June, Sonny’s will be expanding its delivery area to include Westville and Home Gardens. Sergent says visitors to a popular area park will also be included.
“We’re going to be delivering to Forest Glen, to the entrance,” he explained. “It’s very make-able, and it’s very timely for us, and a lot of the campers have already appreciated how much they’re going to appreciate that. On the other side of the state line near Cayuga, just to the east of us, we will be delivering straight to the state line for them as well.”
The new restaurant location will be open Tuesday through Sunday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., and will be closed on Monday.
