Appointments for COVID-19 vaccine clinics later this month at the Vermilion Regional Airport and Danville Area Community College can be made again.
Vermilion County Health Department Administrator Doug Toole says that staff members have received doses from OSF HealthCare and Carle’s facility in Hoopeston so that it has enough doses on hand for clinics between March 21 and 27.
Toole says that 590 people received either their first or second COVID-19 vaccination at the Fischer Theatre on Thursday. Several hundred other county residents received their vaccines yesterday at Watchfire Signs and other manufacturing sites in the county.
The Illinois Department of Public Health says that 7,025 county residents are fully vaccinated, or about nine percent of the overall population. A total of 19,391 doses have been administered.
The public can register for the clinics later this month by visiting the health department’s website.
