Another person has died from COVID-19 here in Vermilion County.
Vermilion County Health Department Administrator Doug Toole says that the person is a man in his 70’s. So far, a total of 122 people have died as a result of COVID-19 locally.
Toole also says that the county has 14 new cases, which include one person in their 80’s, one person in their 60’s, three grade-school-aged children and one toddler.
Four Vermilion County residents are currently hospitalized with coronavirus complications. There are also 263 active cases locally, which is down slightly from Tuesday’s numbers. The county has had a total of 8,718 cases.
160 people received their COVID-19 vaccines on Wednesday at the Bremer Theater on the Danville Area Community College Campus. Clinics will also be held at the Fischer Theatre in Danville today, as well as drive-through clinics being held outdoors at the Vermilion Regional Airport on Friday and Saturday.
