Area residents who have not yet signed up to receive a COVID-19 vaccine have multiple opportunities this week to do so.
Vermilion County Health Department Administrator Doug Toole says that several timeslots at different clinics in the coming days are available. The public can sign up by visiting the health department’s website and using the voucher code and link for each individual clinic site.
Vaccine doses will be administered today at the Bremer Theater on the Danville Area Community College campus as well as a private clinic at Danville Metal Stamping. On Wednesday, there will be clinics at DACC and New Life Church of Faith in Danville and at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Westville. The health department will close out the week with drive-through clinics at the Vermilion Regional Airport on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
The Illinois Department of Public Health reports that 11 percent of Vermilion County’s residents are fully vaccinated. More than 25,000 doses have been administered in the county overall. Approximately 13 percent of residents statewide are fully vaccinated.
