The Vermilion County Health Department is hosting a COVID-19 vaccine clinic at its headquarters today (Monday), and appointments are still available for the public to sign up.
Local residents can visit the health department’s website and find the voucher codes to sign up for today’s clinic, as well as voucher codes for two single-dose Johnson and Johnson vaccine clinics that will be taking place this week. The first is on Wednesday at the Fischer Theatre, and the second is this coming Saturday at the health department.
Appointments can also be made by calling the health department at 217-431-2662, extension 263 or 264, during regular business hours. There are openings between 9:30 and 10 a.m. and anytime after 10:15 a.m. for today’s two-dose vaccine clinic. Appointments can still be made anytime for the single-dose clinic on Wednesday.
Administrator Doug Toole says that 22 more residents have tested positive for COVID. There are currently 245 active cases and four people hospitalized. The Illinois Department of Public Health reports that 11,388 Vermilion County residents are fully vaccinated, which is about 15 percent of the overall population.
