The Vermilion County Health Department is reporting that a Vermilion County woman in her 30’s has died from COVID-19. A total of 126 county residents have now died of the virus. In addition, Administrator Doug Toole reported 17 new COVID cases on Sunday afternoon, including one person in their 70’s, three teenagers and one preschooler.
Four residents are currently hospitalized with the coronavirus. 37 cases are active around the county.
Officials will be administering doses of the Moderna vaccine this week at Danville Area Community College and the Vermilion Regional Airport. You can sign up for an appointment by visiting the health department’s website or by calling 217-431-2662.
In addition, the health department is planning to offer the single-dose Johnson and Johnson vaccine at CRIS Healthy Aging Center, Danville Rescue Mission, Salvation Army and the Vermilion Housing Authority as well as at sites in Georgetown, Oakwood and Sidell. More information will be announced at a later date.
Vaccines are also available through Aunt Martha’a Health Center, Carle, CVS, Meijer, OSF, the VA and Walgreens.
