Two Danville Area Community College alums were officially welcomed to begin their six-year terms on the college’s board of trustees Thursday night.
Sandra Finch and Dylan Haun prevailed in a three-way race for the two seats in the April 6th consolidated election. Finch is the Human Relations Manager for Danville’s city government operations, while Haun is a safety engineer at Guardian West in Urbana and is a former DACC student trustee.
Dave Harby was reappointed as the board’s president, while Greg Wolfe was selected as the vice president. Kerri Thurman and Tammy Betancourt will continue as the board’s secretary and treasurer.
The board chose to postpone a vote on issuing $1.5 million in bonds to pay for upcoming maintenance projects. A watchdog firm sent the college a lengthy letter questioning the transparency of voting on the motion the same night as the hearing, so members decided to pull it from the agenda. They are expected to consider it next month.
