Drivers on Route 36 in Montezuma will need to allow for extra time for their commutes.
Starting today, the Indiana Department of Transportation will begin painting the bridge over the Wabash River. Traffic will be controlled by a stoplight, with one lane being allowed to travel through the bridge during the project. In addition, Water Street will be closed at the intersection with Route 36. The signal is expected to be activated on Wednesday, weather permitting.
INDOT expects the project to be wrapped up by October 2nd. It is part of a larger $2 million project that includes painting bridges along Interstate 65 near Lafayette.
Another project starting today is the resurfacing of State Route 28 in Attica and Williamsport. That project is set to be completed by August 7th.
