A 59-year-old woman has died after a two-vehicle accident on Route 49 Monday afternoon.
Illinois State Police say Robin Robinson was northbound on the highway at 1:05 p.m. near the intersection with 4000 North Road, approximately one mile south of Rankin, when her vehicle collided with a southbound vehicle driven by 20-year-old Ellis Flessner-Bryant of Rankin.
Police say Flessner-Bryant was turning left onto a private driveway when the accident occurred. He has been issued a citation for failing to yield to oncoming traffic.
