The pandemic caused Old Dominion members to have some anxiety about the future of their career. The guys have had chart-topping hits and taken home several awards, but as Matthew Ramsey tells us, when lockdown kicked in, their barometers for success were abruptly taken away. “There was no daily reminder that we were doing good, you know? Those shows where people were buying tickets and T-shirts and singing the songs, and that's how we really gauged our success so it was like, 'Man, are we even a band anymore?' (laughs) It just felt so strange. I remember I was taking a walk and this car pulls a u-turn and pulls up to me and she's like, 'What are you doing? You're just out here taking a walk?' (laughs) And I just completely forgot that I was maybe a recognizable person. That just hadn't happened in a really long time.”
Matthew and his bandmates are back together and gearing up for the Band Behind The Curtain Tour which kicks off later this month. The guys just announced the trek yesterday (Tuesday, May 4th) on social media writing, “You've wondered and you've waited patiently. We couldn't be more excited to finally announce our Band Behind the Curtain shows for 2021. Most shows onsale May 14 . . .” The tour is set to run through December, wrapping up in Florida.
