The Tilton police officer who was involved in a shooting incident on 14th Street Wednesday afternoon has been released from a hospital after being treated for minor injuries.
A press release from the village says that he is on administrative leave, which is the standard practice during investigations of officer-involved shooting incidents.
Illinois State Police are handling the investigation into the incident, where the officer and a man police were chasing were injured in the shooting. It happened around 3 p.m. Wednesday just east of the Greenwood Cemetery.
