A meeting scheduled by State officials on Wednesday (May 12, 2021) will focus on how Covid-19 vaccinations will be given to Illinois youth ages 12 to 15. The FDA has approved the Emergency Use Authorization for Pfizer/BioNtech vaccine for those youth. Up until now, the Pfizer vaccine had been authorized for only those ages 16 and older.
Vermilion County Health Department Administrator Douglas Toole says his office has already been working with some potential host-sites for vaccination clinics focusing on those between the ages of 12 and 15. Toole says they plan to begin offering registration for those clinics soon.
‘’The sooner we can gauge interest in those clinics, the better we will be able to prepare for them,’’ said Toole in a news release Monday.
